- Roger Thorpe dies in California and GL airs a tribute episode full of flashbacks, with GL characters remembering many of the things Roger Thorpe did. It's time to put the character to rest.
- Abby and Rick deal with infertility. It's surprising Abby hasn't gotten pregnant yet. This would be a good story for the couple to deal with.
- Monti Sharp returns as David. Sharp brought such dimension to the role. I never realized he was so irreplaceable.
- Ed Bauer returns to Springfield. The character has been travelling long enough. Get him back to Springfield!
- Someone is actually handed a paycheck. Odd how some of them work, but never seem to get paid!
- Beth Raines' biological father comes to Springfield. Does the man even have a name? Lillian could use something to fret over, and Beth could be involved in something other than a romantic relationship.
- Vanessa and Blake apologize to Reva for bad-mouthing her to Annie on the eve of Annie's wedding to Josh. I know, it's never going to happen, but that scene still bugs me to this day for some reason!
- Carmen's husband, believed to be dead, returns.
- GL comes up with a new opening. It's past time to retire the flashy opening, one I've never cared for. Shots of the actors would be nice change.
- Josh gets a story all his own. I had high hopes for the clone story, and Newman was great in it, but it was still centered around Reva. It's high time Reva supports Josh -- maybe a cancer battle or something.
