President: Vanessa Reardon Vanessa: This meeting will now come to order. We have sensed a need for a support group for women in Springfield. The first item up for discussion is the annual mother/daughter banquet to be held next Friday for those of you on speaking terms with your daughters. So far only Reva and Marah have responded. Beth and Harley are still fighting over who gets to bring Lizzie, and Eleni is having some trouble locating Marina to pin down a time. (She may be out walking Scout). For those of you NOT on speaking terms with your daughters, drug sniffing dogs and food tasters will be on hand before the meal. Reva: The second item on the agenda is the new man in town, Sean McCullough. This man has been in town for at least two months, and no one has slept with him yet. I feel this shows a lack of friendliness towards the newcomer. Someone should be appointed to handle this most important task. Dinah: I nominate Cassie! Cassie: I nominate Dinah! Blake: I'm double-booked at the moment, or I'd take care of it. Meta: Girls, girls! Maybe we should give someone else a chance. Someone who hasn't been so busy lately maybe.... Vanessa: Ahem! The next item is the planning of Harley's wedding. Beth has already volunteered to participate in a catfight, however, we need another volunteer, as Blake is not really a fair match at the moment, and Harley will be otherwise occupied being the bride. Dinah: I would, but... well... my condition. Maybe Cassie could do it. Cassie: Normally I would be happy to volunteer...but...um...I'm not going to be able to help out this time. Dinah: Leave it to Cassie to be selfish. It's not like she's pregnant or anything. Beth: You know, I might be able to create a scene by myself. I have this stunning orange suit.... Harley: You know, now that I think about it, I might have a few minutes between the I do's and tossing the bouquet...I think I could handle being the bride AND the catfight. Vanessa: Are you sure? Harley: Oh yeah. Piece of cake. Vanessa: OK then. We're set for the catfight. I also have an e-mail from Annie, promising to create a disturbing presence from a distance. She hasn't specified how she plans to do this, but I'm sure she's up to the task. Jenna: Who's going into labor at the wedding? I did the last one. Eleni: And I've already done one. Vanessa: Well you know Jenna, the whole wedding/birth thing has been a bit overdone, and we're not planning a birth at this particular wedding. Holly: Who's taking care of the liquor for the wedding? Vanessa: Your brother, Ken, has offered to cater. He's planning a nice spread with lots of fruit. Holly: I'll make sure he sets up the bar properly. Meta: We should also mention that next Thursday is Take Your Daughter to Work Day in Springfield. Is everyone prepared? Vanessa: Oh yes, little Maureen is all set to come with me to the Spaulding offices while I, um...take care of whatever business that Spaulding...um...does. Eleni: I'm planning on having Marina work with me in the diner...when I find her. Reva: Marah is coming down to Lewis Oil to sit in on a meeting with me. Beth: I already have Lizzie's orange suit picked out. Harley: Now wait, I was going to take Lizzie to work with me at my detective agency. Why should she stay home with you? You don't even HAVE a job. Beth: Well, I have....um...important work that I do at home...yes, VERY important work. Holly: I've already offered to take Blake to the Journal, but she says her schedule is too busy. Meta: Tell me about it! That girl has me dragging her all over Springfield...the docks, the video store, Ben's apartment. Vanessa: OK that's it for new business. This meeting is adjourned.
