Reva is pregnant with Shayne, Dylan was recently revealed as Reva's son, but Josh doesn't know Billy is his father, he thinks Dylan is the product of Reva being raped. Jeva, H.B., Sarah, Hawk, Rusty, Billy, Mindy, Dylan, Sam, Vanessa, Hampton, Little Bill, and Marah are all present. The women are in the kitchen, the men are in the parlor. Little Billy walks up to Reva, holding Marah's hand. Bill: "How much longer do I have to watch her?" Reva: "Well, you're getting paid aren't you? What are you complaining about?" Bill: "I don't need the money, I get an allowance. And I'm just doing this as a favor to my father." Reva: "Well don't put yourself out." Vanessa: "Little Billy it's fine. Everybody knows how great it is of you to babysit, we all know you'd much rather be outside playing." Bill: "I'd rather be in the parlor with the rest of the men." Vanessa: "Well the rest of the men will be coming out of the parlor to help us very soon." [Reva and Sarah laugh, as Dylan enters] Reva: "Dylan, you made it." Dylan: "Yeah..." Hawk: "Come on boy, you're just in time to help me." In the parlor: H.B.: [lighting a cigar for Rusty] "You gotta pull in on it you know." [Rusty starts choking] Josh: "Daddy, are you trying to kill him or what?" H.B.: "Just because you don't like the finer things in life don't mean that nobody else can, you know that, right boy?" Rusty: [still coughing a little] "Right, right." H.B.: "You know this is a big day for the Lewises and the Shaynes. It's a holiday, and we are actually celebrating it together." Billy: "That certainly is a first, it's like the pilgrims and the Indians getting together to smoke a peace pipe." H.B.: "And we're welcoming a new member to the clan. By the way, how is Dylan making out?" Rusty: "Well, I haven't seen much around, I think he's trying to get adjusted to having family." H.B.: "And is the family getting adjusted to having him around?" Josh: "We're trying Daddy." Billy: "Josh, why you don't you just give it some time?" Josh: "You know, Reva's been way out of line lately, you know, buying him a new car, and trying to help him as much as she can. But I guess it's fine because he knows how to put her in her place, so what difference does it make?" Billy: "Just ease up." Josh: "I just don't understand why everybody's more concerned about Dylan then they are about Reva. I mean she's pregnant, she got some problems with......" Dylan and Hawk come in the parlor. H.B.: "Have a cigar." Dylan: "No thanks." Hawk- "Don't mind if I do." Josh: "No lectures today, all right?" Billy: "You're right, it's Thanksgiving, we're here to celebrate." Josh: "Thank you very much." Hampton comes in. Hamp: "Glad I finally found a real party." H.B.: [holding out the cigars] "Have one." Hamp: "No, I gave these up years ago, along with all my other vices." Hamp sits down with Dylan. Hamp: "Hey fella, how you feeling?" Dylan: "Hey." Hamp: "Guess we're not going to be seeing much of you around HeartBreaker anymore, huh?" Dylan: "Yeah, that community service stuff is going to keep me pretty busy." Hamp: "Yeah, well it could be a lot worse you know." Dylan: "Hey I ain't complaining, just stating facts." Hamp: "You know, I knew your adopted mom." Dylan: "You knew Molly?" Hamp: "Yeah, she was a real good friend of my mom's. A real fine lady." Dylan: "She sure was. Are you the guy who put Reva and Molly together?" Hamp: "I introduced them. I thought Molly would do real good by you." Dylan: "Well she did, thanks. At least one of my moms turned out okay." Hamp: "Hey, Reva thought she was doing the right thing when she gave you to Molly." Dylan: "Have you known Reva a long time?" Hamp: "Most of her life." Dylan: "Did you know my father?" Hamp: "No." Dylan: "Come on, you helped her out, she didn't say anything about my father?" Hamp: "No she didn't. She was very confused, and she didn't confide in anyone back then." Reva knocks on the door. Reva: "Come on guys, open up!" Josh: "Hold on, hold on, come on in." Reva: [comes in and smells the cigar smoke] "Oh what is that...oh does that smell good, I love that!" [the men leave, but Reva corners Dylan] Reva: "Hi." Dylan: "Hi." Reva: "How's the community service stuff going?" Dylan: "Okay." Reva: "Good. I stopped by to see Alexandra Spaulding earlier this week." Dylan: "Yeah? Why?" Reva: "Well, I thought since you and Alan Michael.." Dylan: "Look, you said you were going to stop pushing. Give it a rest okay?" [In the kitchen[ Vanessa: [to Bill] "Oh well, she I told you the men would be coming out of the parlor soon. I guess this is the Thanksgiving your daddy can teach you how to carve a turkey." Billy: "Well now that's usually H.B.'s job, buy maybe we'll wrestle that knife away from him later, and we can wreck havoc on the bird ourselves. Anybody seen Dylan?" [Vanessa storms off, Reva goes after her[ Reva: "I couldn't help but notice how upset you were in there, what is it?" Vanessa: "Nothing, really nothing." Reva: "Well you looked like you were ready to explode. Is there anything I can do?" Vanessa: "Yes, you can keep Dylan out of my way. I am sick and tired of my son being ignored by his own father because of that boy." Reva: "Vanessa.." Vanessa: "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come here today. But little Billy wanted to be with his daddy on Thanksgiving, and I didn't want to be alone, but it really hurts. It really hurts to see little Billy upset because Billy won't give him the time of day because of Dylan." Reva: "Don't bail out on Billy. He's trying, he's trying so hard to make this work for everybody." Vanessa: "I know he is, but I don't like what you're doing. Secrets just rip families apart, and this one is dynamite." Reva: "Vanessa you can't tell anybody." Billy comes in. Billy: "Reva will you excuse us for a minute please?" Reva: "Billy, she..." [Reva leaves the room] The men have an arm-wrestling contest, and Josh beats Dylan. Reva: "Hey, it was just a dumb game." Josh: "Tell your son that. I personally couldn't care less about arm- wrestling, I am just getting sick and tired of watching him throw all of your efforts back up in your face." Reva: "He just needs time Joshua. I need to back off, and so do you." Jeva see Dylan playing the guitar and singing "Return to Pooh Corner" to Marah. Reva: "Well, at least he likes one member of the family." Sarah and Hawk come out with the food. H.B.: "All right, let us all gather round, join hands, bow our heads." Marah: [to Dylan] "You have to hold hands, it's tradition." Dylan lifts Marah up and stands her on the chair, everyone holds hands. H.B.: "Dear Lord, it's Thanksgiving again. We got a lot to be thankful for. Reva found her son, and we want him to feel welcome, feel a part of all of us, and to know that this is only the first of many Thanksgivings we'll be spending together. We got a new a new baby on the way too. [Jeva smile at each other] Next year he'll be with us. And we've got lots of our loved ones with us, from here and yon. Billy, Hamp, Vanessa, Little Billy, Mindy. Yes, we Lewises and Shaynes are truly blessed Lord, with good friends, good family, and good cooks. Now we thank you for all that, and we ask you to bless this food which we are about to recieve, in the name of God the father all mighty." Everyone: "Amen." [They all eat, and laugh, and enjoy being together as a family.] |
