Robert Newman

Robert Newman first joined Guiding Light in 1981. He originated the role of Joshua Lewis.

Robert received a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater from California State University at Northridge. He has worked extensively in Los Angeles theater, playing roles in The Robber Bridegroom, Guys and Dolls, and Bye Bye Birdie. He had short-term roles on General Hospital and Santa Barbara during his breaks from Guiding Light.

In May 1999, Moonlight was released. Robert and GL co-star Kim Zimmer (Reva) narrated this book of Suzanne Forster's of the same name.

Robert and his wife, Britt Helfer, were married in September 1986. They have one son, Connor, and one daughter, Kendal. Robert enjoys golf, snow skiing, and tennis. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 27, 1958 and is the youngest of seven children.
