Maura West

Maura West originated the role of Carly Tenney on As The World Turns in April 1995. She played the role until May 1996 and returned to the show in September 1997.

When Maura was in high school she watched ATWT. Martha Byrne (Lily) and Ben Hendrickson (Hal) were two of the actors on the show at the time Maura was a fan that she now works with.

Maura's theater credits include roles in Much Ado About Nothing, Translations, Top Girls, and Hamlet.

Maura was born on April 27, 1972 in Springfield, MA. She has two brothers, Peter and Andrew, and one sister, Amy. She is the youngest. Maura received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University. Maura is divorced from Jonathan Knight, a director. Maura and Jonathan have one son, Benjamin Crawford West Knight, who was born on May 30, 1996. Maura is engaged to Scott DeFreitas (he plays Andy Dixon on ATWT).

Maura is a fan of the New York Yankees. She enjoys reading and going to the movies.
