Joanna's additional television credits include roles in the series New York Undercover, The Cosby Show, Spenser: For Hire, the daytime drama One Life to Live, and the television film The Trial of Bernhard Goetz. Rhinehart has performed in many regional theater productions such as To Be Young, Gifted and Black, Twelfth Night, Summer Feet Hearts, The Tempest, The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Antony and Cleopatra, Hamlet, One Short-Sighted Black Woman vs. Mammy Louise and Safreeta Mae, and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf. She has also appeared in the independent films The Brother and the Plumber and Taabu. Her background in jazz and ballet led her to theater work. She attended Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where she studied fashion design/retailing, and minored in economics.
