Miscellaneous:
- Chose to leave ATWT to try and hold his marriage and family together (he later divorced).
- Would love to return to ATWT but expects he never will, thinks Darryl was a great character.
- ATWT had planned on Darryl Crawford being the first man in the history of daytime to have murdered his wife and get away with it. Plans changed when Smith decided to leave the show and someone else was made the killer of Carolyn Crawford.
- Would love a role on Young and the Restless.
- Had a top ten gold single, You Take My Breath Away.
